I don't use a screen protector on mine but it occurred to me that instead of using a tiny credit card to smooth the protector over the screen check to see if you have a bench scraper. My main bench scraper is metal but I also have a plastic one that would be perfect. Next time you need a larger soft plastic edge check your kitchen.
