You must put the os on the same version as your backup in order to be able to restore. ( it historically was this way). I'd update them both to the max and back up the old and restore the new one with the dada from the aging one.

That's unfortunate!  I've bought numerous products from the Apple Refurb Store and each has looked and performed as brand new.  Better luck next time!

It had a nick on the edge, so, i exchanged it earlier and this one has some kind of imperfection on the edge as well. So, it goes back tomorrow.

My Air2 was refurbished and pristine!

When I got my 10.5 Pro, I just plugged it into the charger and restored it from my backup.  The system will tell you if the upgrade to iOS 11 is available.  Otherwise, it may already be installed on the new unit.  I bought mine before that software was available.

Hi,

I'm getting a 10.5 pro today and was wondering if this sounded like the best way to proceed.

Charge it first, upgrade to ios 11 and then restore from backup of my Air2?

Thanks very much!
