Jobs did not let this kind of industrial design mistake happen for a reason.
He had different reasons for *his* industrial design mistakes.
I think these charging solutions are hideous looking and a bad bad compromise in industrial design and hurts years of reputation for mostly great industrial design.
DON'T BUY THEM!
The removal of mag safe charger in the new MacBook and the single USB C port for charging and everything else so any serious user HAS TO BUY A HUB if they use any external device (I have 2-3 at any given moment on my MacBook Pro Retina) and want to be plugged in while using the device.
Some people prefer a laptop. The Macbook is for those folks. It is NOT for "serious users" who need to process 20 minutes of 4K video, or 250 RAW image files of 30MB each.
That is what the Retina MBPro is for.
These things are sign that no one in management is going to stand up to bad decisions the teams make, and the teams now can compromise and ship some things that can ruin a reputation Jobs spent 2-3 decades building in great industrial design decisions. Getting sloppy when MS has produced Surface Pro and Surface Book seems risky. Apple needs to continue to lead, not trail and fail, in industrial design issues to keep their reputation. This needs to be fixed next version or Apple's lead in industrial design is no longer a competitive factor as these kind of horrible decisions creep into important products.
Uncertainty!
Doubt!
Oh, Woe Is Me!
