There are quite a number of type 2 diabetics who are dependent on exogenous insulin P. K. Type 1 or 2 seems to be more descriptive of the diabetes itself and not JUST how it is treated.
'Technically' I am 'Type 1', but there are many on our insulin pump groups who are 'type 2'. Whatever treatment you need is the treatment you need.
