I would head to the nearest Apple store or Genius Bar and ask of for help. It sounds to me like a problem with the SIM, and your iPad isn't identifying itself correctly.

I just tried a hard reset like Maria suggested and it still persists. I guess I can't do anything until Apple contacts me. Wonderful.
