Re: [iPad] Fw: iPad Charger

This is incorrect.  You can't use wattage to determine whether to use a power adapter. You have to have the same voltage and at least enough amperage.  More amperage, which would raise the watts, doesn't hurt anything.  The device will draw as many amps as it needs and that's all.

Too little amperage can be very bad for electronic devices.

iPod charger=5W and iPad charger=10W. That means the iPad charger puts out more juice. Theoretically you could burn up an iPod/iPhone using the 10W charger if you leave it on the charger too long.
And... The other way doesn't charge your iPad very fast using an iPod/iPhone charger. But no damage would result.

I actually use the 10 W charger  for all of my iDevices.  Works fine, lasts a long time.

In very, very tiny print in a rather light greenish-gray (?) color, the following is written on the iPad charger:  "10 W USB Power Adapter."  (See the attached photo.)  The other chargers don't have this. It is such tiny print that I'm seriously considering going to the trouble of making a little label for it so it'll be easier to see if I have the 10W one.  Hope this helps.

All I know is the charger I got with my ipad2 looks exactly the same size and shape as my old 1st gen iPhone charger. There is certainly confusion in my mind now.
