iPad has no versions. You seem to be mixing iPad with iPod.I'm one of those who purchased the iPod/iPhone version of the TomTom software for my iPad. It downloads just like any other app you purchase, although it takes a long time to download at DSL speeds because of the map database size. Although it's not optimized for the iPad's larger screen, it works quite well in both the 1x and 2x screen modes. Just make sure that your iPad has the GPS chip (you need the 3G version of the iPad to get GPS).
