i have friends i have found via facebook that i spent 15-25 years looking for, i use it to communicate with people who refuse to use email, text, phone or who live too far away and wont use either other means.
so. yea. i use it. reluctantly. like email in 1995. reluctantly. like texting in 2002. reluctantly. like my cell phone in 1997, reluctantly. oddly enough unlike compuserve in the mid 80s, i was gung ho posting to BBSes.
i guess its for school friends. i have been out of school for about 20 years. hth
