ATM machines have been running windows NT for years and iirc are now Internet enabled. Must be some security there.

I've had the same security concerns but some type of security must exist in the cloud if payroll companies like ADP and Paycom are migrating to 100% cloud-based.  Actually, Paycom started out that way.

I'm not sure of the boundary between cloud and other intern-hosted services, but  whatever they're called I get much utility from cloud-linked Address Book and iCal, and Gmail. Also SmugMug, Dropbox, iDisk, Evernote, and Mint.
