I think that it's pretty clear that Jobs wanted Apple to survive his death, and that is a large part of WHY he chose Cook to run the place.
People cared about Steve, personally, and believed him when he spoke. They caught his enthusiasm. That's a salesman: you believe what he says; you like him. You feel good when he's in the room.
You obviously don't.
Apple is the quality leader among the me-too tiny tech companies, but no more.
Magic is gone.
But that doesn't make advanced technology magic.
