Push it hard how? I read, email, listen to music, a bit of YouTube, edit photos, use safari and play a couple games on my iPad mini. I have used imovie on occasion too. I don't think that's pushing my iPad too much.

February of this year she went to the Apple Store to "look" at the iPad 2. After seeing it and playing with it, she bought it. She's now saying she loves how much faster it is and loves the features on it she couldn't get on her original. So, it's exactly right to say you don't know you need something until you see it and/or use it.
Wow. I suspect she hadn't pushed her old iPad very hard. If she had, it'd have crashed. As someone else here said, a six-year-old iPad is like a much older car.
