Re: [iPad] Now that iPhones are outselling Android phones, Apple is an existential threat to Google

Correct. World data would take longer to collate than one country

Android up till that 3rd quarter was 7.5 times iOS, and thats for the whole world, thats pretty high in absolute volume terms.

The 4th quarter will reflect the screen size catchup, and as features are close to parity, its a pretty level playing field now I feel.
Annecdotally, I hear a lot of Androiders liking and getting Windows Phone, but WP has still not got any traction.

The other factor is that market share in iOS vs Android is meaningless, less than meaningless.

Lastly, numbers do change a bit when a new release comes out the S6 will be out soon, there will be a minor spike, not balanced by an iOS release spike. The 6S will tell a wee story though. The 6 was a big catchup, I think the 6S will be a lot steadier

Interesting times though

This article is referencing the third quarter of 2014 which only included a few days of iPhone 6 sales.
