Of course it's good to have choices. My "down" isn't on choice, it's on Watch.
Watch - as designed now - needs Phone. You've got to carry two devices. What's the point of that? If you're of a geekish frame of mind, the more wearables the better, I suppose, but most people want simplicity, I think, not more complexity.
It seems to me that Apple's doing Watch just because they don't want to be left behind in case the concept takes off. That's OK, sure, but it's certainly nothing to get excited about. Everything Apple tries doesn't deserve wild praise from anyone. It should be judged on its own merits. What we've seen of Watch isn't a breakthrough, like, say, iPad. It's just copycat.
By the way, aren't there already glucose monitors on the market? What functionality would a Watch/Phone/sensor combo add to what's already available?

While this may be true, I'm wondering if you actually have diabetes, or have tried to live with a chronic condition for over 30 years like I have? You seem very 'down' on the whole watch/diabetes app thing, asking "But who really cares?" etc. There are people who will jump on the Watch bandwagon, but I have eyesight issues from premature birth. I will have to see this thing, hold it and try it in the store before I can even think of using one. I may not care for it at all, but isn't it nice to have the CHOICE?
Even outside of things "Apple" you're right in that "There are a few million who will buy anything, Celtica". *I* will believe that is why APPL is worth over $700B, why other companies are still solvent. On Feb 10, 2015, at 9:08 PM, David Smith david.smith.14916@gmail.com [iPad] <iPad@yahoogroups.com> wrote:There are a few million who will buy anything, Celtica.
