Kris, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of the Windows system after you've used it for a few weeks. I think you will be in a unique position to give us a good comparison of Windows vs IOS once you become more expert in your "new environment".
Today I would be saying what you are saying - I've used Apple computers since I could manage to find the $$ to do so, and never used Windows, so when I'm forced to use a computer with that OS I'm clueless. And although I'm a "Mac elitist" who thinks that Macs are inherently better, I have no empirical data to base my assumptions on. No actual personal experience either, since I don't count 5 minutes on a computer when I'm trying to check in for a flight, experience.
And I know that part of my preference is just that I'm well educated in the Apple version of things and I'm clueless about the Microsoft version.
I'm hoping to find out that I'm right - that all the additional $$ I've spent over the years has been well spent in terms of the elegance of the system and (obviously) the lack of virus problems and general instability.
So, please keep letting us know how you find things after a couple of months working with Windows!

So for the first time in my life I am having to use windows. But you've been hating Microsoft and Windows for years, and you never use it? But your not the only one in this list that has never used Windows but hates it with a passionAnd every freaking thing Looks like the Mac Finder, err Windows Explorer. At a glance there is no difference between an app or internet explorer or windows explorer. How confusing. How stupid. Very stupid. What??? Windows Explorer is a file manager, where you see icons for the drives, virtual drives, folders, etc, and files. Internet Explorer is a web browser looks nothing like Windows Explorer. An app looks the same too??An app will look like anything, the only thing in common is some form of menu bar, as you8 get in OSX. Does uTorent look the same as Photoshop. Final Cut Pro, Outlook?? Strange commentWorse yet it seems that everyone works in full screen mode and somehow relies upon the task bar to navigate!!! And everything has tabs! What? I think you need to be criticing your work colleagues, how they use anything is nothing to do with Microsoft. Right now, at work I have two screens looking at 5 applications. I have tabs at the top, task bar at the bottom, I can flick between everything in an instant."Read every error message" but yet "I've never figured out what this one means, ignore it"I spend 40 hours a week running multiple everything, error messages are rare, they seem to be what M$ haters need to say. I don't have any revolving beachball issues though, nor needing to repair permissions though, nor any of the other frequent help that is asked for on the list. The rest of the email, well yes , funny. The best way to compare two OS's is to know both of them, not to love one with a passion and hate the other with an equal or greater passion. Look on any thread, and you will find many that use both, like both, prefer one or the other. And you will find the haters, of both. Like anything ITShaking my damn head. I know how to run a computer. But if what I run is a computer then this is the Lego built equivalent.. Rubbish. Rubbish. Pure rubbish. I'm scared my eyes will fall out of my head because they roll back into my head so hard so often that I think they'll pop free of their sockets. And their is two delete keys? Wtf is that monkey business? One says delete and one says backspace! Isn't that the same thing?!?! Last time I wept this much was when my good friend Jennifer died in her sleep. Really. Literally. I weep. I weep for humanity. I weep for my sanity. I now understand why they all smoke cigarettes and I wouldn't doubt if they all drink obsessively. Because I feel like I should start (not really but I may need to start pounding aspirin or chewing it like candy)
Anyway. Pray for me. I need all the help I can get. I could easily do this on a Macintosh. I really could. It's much visually easier to understand. I've got seventeen more days of training to catch on then 21 days of coached on the job practice before they throw me to the wolves.
Oh. And if you call Sprint for anything, be forewarned that they will try to get to you add a line of service. Why anyone would want another one of they don't already have it I don't understand but it's the way it is.
Enjoy your day.
