That's good, Mary, thanks for your input. I imagine Keynote is the mac
equivalent of Powerpoint, and Pages the equivalent of Word? If someone emailed
me a Word document, will I be able to open it without any problems with Pages,
or will there be a bit of procedure to get it to open? Can it be saved in the
hard drive?
Barry, is NeoOffice downloadable into the iPad in case I need to do so? It's
good to have plan b if plan a isn't working for me.

This is tangentially answering your question. I bought an Ipad to use when
traveling since I didn't want to go through airport security, public
transportation, etc and risk my 17in macbook pro to dropping, etc, when juggling
suitcases, camera gear, and the like.
I am using the Ipad for serious work. And I am using Keynote and Pages
predominantly on my Ipad and Goodreader to read the pdf formats. This is
working out very well for me.
I haven't tried Open Office since I am trying to stay in a MAC environment for
everything that I am doing these days.
cheers,
Mary Ellyn
