Also, kill Safari and try again (a rapid double-tap of the Home button and then a swipe up of the big Safari-screen image).  If Safari still crashes (goes back to the icons screen), restart the iPad with the top-right button.  If that doesn't work, restart it by pressing and holding both the top-right button and the Home button simultaneously.  If none of that works, you may have a Genius-Bar problem.

Which website? Is it repeatable? Go to settings and tap safari and go to and tap clear history and website data. See if that helps? If not post the website and we can all tackle it together. :-D

Can you update safari?.the reason IM asking is when we go to a website or app sometimes it just pops out and goes back to the front page of icons
