no, jim, my point was simple…mac's are not inherently invulnerable to viruses. I have buddies who've been apple devotees since, well since forever. one fellow in particular loves to tell me how his mac is immune...his word...to virus attacks. it's true that mac's are less likelyto be infected but immune…no. and, yes, OS X may be less vulnerable, maybe a lot less, than most. "less vulnerable" is the operative words. a simple google search will confirm that. <https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2472>. when you read the article you'll notice that the author uses terms like "may" which does leave the door open just a bit.
look, my original comment was not intended as a 'gotcha' statement or some sort of lame attempt to prove that macs are somehow inferior to windows machines. no, it was simply a reality check that all computer systems are vulnerable to malware attacks and to believe othewise is whistling as you walk through the graveyard.
I think this writer sums it up very nicely…you're probably safe but it's a calcuated risk.

I'd start lifting weights...but i figure if something's heavy it must be nature's way of telling me not to pick it up.

I take it, rich, that this is your way of saying, “No, Jim, I do NOT have any evidence that there have been any viruses that infect MacOS X."
