I just wanna swap out the SIM card for a local SIM card when traveling so that I can use local data and text and minute rates. And get incoming texts and calls for free like it should be :-)
But it seems like my iPhone 5 is capable of jumping on Verizon or cricket so I'll check with a few other carriers and if it's all good I'll just try to use that internationally when I go.

depends what you want to do with it...i traveled europe recently with my sprint phone and used its overseas international voice roaming plan effectively...it was 99 cents per minute...did not use it to call folks back home in the u.s...used it for short travel-related calls in europe.
