Re: [iPad] Trouble with stuck app

It has happened to me but I forgot what I did.  I can only think of three things to do.
1.  Go to the App Store and tap install (or whatever other choice it gives) again.
2.  Do a restart.  (press and hold power button to power off)
3.  Do a reset (reboot).  (press and hold both power and home button at the same time)

Hi,

I have a fairly new 1st generation Mini iPad. I've really been enjoying it.
Lately, I've been downloading lots of free apps from the apple store and trying them out. Many I discard, but have found some treasures.

In the middle of one download at the Apple Store, not sure which app, it stopped, crashed or whatever. The icon remains in an "installing" mode on my screen and it never finishes installing. I've turned it off and on and tried again. There's been no successful way to find out what app because I was using Zite to find new interesting apps and it doesn't allow me to see where I was before the download, it brings me back to the opening Zite screen, which is useless in this case.

So, I'm not sure whether my thinking about all of this is correct. But, I cannot remove the app icon because when I click on it, it doesn't provide a circleX to click on. It shows about 3/4 installed and is stuck there. I'm not sure what to do about that or if there is anything I can do.

Is there some way I can get into the cloud to figure it out and possibly remove it? I don't want to do a backup and get this problem to be permanent. I prefer not to restore... but is that the only way? I can't download anything else from the Apple Store, not that I'm wanting to right now, and I'm stuck too, stuck wondering what to do.

Thanks!
