Looking into it a bit more --
I can play audiobooks from my PC to my ATV *except* for Audible ones (I only
checked a couple of them). The iTunes-sourced & the ripped-by-me worked
fine, at least the few I checked. It's too cumbersome to do more than a spot
check for what ATV will play!
Google gets me the info from last year that it's some sort of restriction on
Audible's part --

An older thread from 2008 reflects the same problem, so it's not "suddenly"
about ATV & Audible.

Subject: Re: [iPad] Playing audiobook
I have a ton of audiobooks in my iTunes of my desktop iMac. That library is
shared with Apple TV. I can play anything else but suddenly Apple TV is not
seeing myAudiobooks. I tried making sure they were in playlists but it
doesn't matter. It's like suddenly Apple TV dies want to play nicely with
Audible or visa versa. They have always played but are not even seeing them
now in the last couple of weeks.
