Yahoo charges an extra yearly fee to use IMAP on a computer, on a mobile device it's automatic without the extra yearly fee.

After many years of POP email and carrying it over to a new computer, I finally got my entire family to stop using client software and just use Gmail or Yahoo with IMAP.

With IMAP, you just go to the Gmail/Yahoo Trash folder and retrieve the item you accidentally deleted.

My system works for me; others would find it highly inconvenient!
YMMV.
