Had an original iPad but when the 3rd Gen came out bought one. Upgraded to 64GB and to cellular data model, but the best part of the upgrade was the the screen resolution. Beautiful. I would recommend at least a 3rd Gen and then depending on you need for speed, space, etc. would consider 4 or Air. Difference in price a factor as sometimes only $100-150 can give you a big step up.
