Is it relatively easy to add an app that is made for a subset of MacOS to MacOS? . If it is, its a good idea to have my apps on ALL my iDevices, including the full blown MacOS computer.
Mouse control is ok, a cursor is just a finger extension. Fingerprints on my computer screen? No thanks. I agree with Kris, a touch laptop or desktop is odd, as the screen is not near. A phone or tablet screen is near. Touch works, in places where it works better then a keyboard. Look at your TV weather forecast. Big screen, weather person touching it to move to the next screen. See that on news TV and F1 news, its better. On a desktop it isnt IMO. Just cos it exists and it can be added doesn't mean its better

I would use it just the way I use my MacBook Pro. 90% of the time using mouse and keyboard even on IOS apps.
The 10% of the time I touched the screen it would work though. And while using it in "tablet mode" i.e. screen I would of course touch it then.

The point of touch support is not to supplant the mouse but to supplement it.

It could work but who wants gorilla arms from touching a monitor all day? Or to redesign touch UI for mouse UI?(UI = user interface) (gorilla arms. Hold your arms straight out in front of yu for an entire eight hour work day then get back to me)
~KLM\\ "If people are not laughing at your goals, your goals are too small..." ~Azim Premji //To me Mac OS X + iOS Touch Apps would rock. With a convertible twist
screen as well.
And allow the Macs to be used without a keyboard at times for simple tasks.
It would be what people want from Win8 they think Win8 does because
they have no basis for comparison.
I say that because often when using my Mac I want to use iOS apps
instead of accessing similar features but worse layouts on a browser
(CNN, Pandora, Sirrius) and wasting browser tabs.
It would give the Mac access to a half million + apps that only live
on phones and iPads as well.
I think it should work in Mac OSX mode and Boot Camp just to really
show off to Windows users how nice iOS apps are and plentiful compared
to Win 8 apps.
I occasionally reach out and touch my Mac just out of reflex because
every other device I have responds to touch its why I traded my
non-touch Kindle for a Kindle Paperwhite.
