Re: [iPad] Apple teams up with Logitech and Moga to develop game controllers for iOS

Eh Nintendo sales have dips and flat points because kids will play new tablet games and forget about the franchises.

If they keep refusing to make tablet and phone versions they will kill the franchises in long term as new franchises that don't care about being Nintendo exclusive and run on phones and tablets steal the heart and mind of them and next generation who never buys consoles ever.

Consoles are now the "mainframes" and high end conniseur devices but iPads and Phones have enough oomph for the old classics and new games so the next gen and current gen find less need for consoles. The Wii and WiiU got used a lot less than the iPads in my house this summer. They were exploring iPad games.

They don't have to.  That's what Nintendo Boxes are for.

My kids and I never play shooter games with guns and such.

Its puzzle games like Pikmin, Luigis Mansion, Plants vs. Zombies or cute games like Kirby, Megam, Super Smash Bros, Pokemon, Raving Rabbids, etc.

The 3DS and Nintendo thus are their favorites but iPads are so nice for them they love the games but why do they need to be always in touch screen mode. With controllers they could airplay to the TV and quit touching the screen.

New Management has a clue but I bet the Logitech controllers will suck but clones and competing controllers will beat out the beuracracy designed official controllers. But iPads will cut into console plays and Apple TV next gen can support those controllers and an App Store and console sales and handheld will flatten even more. Only the Nintendo exclusives  will get people buying consoles small and large.

No, don't play first person shooter games.  I play adventure story games like Fierce Tales from Big Fish or 4 elements or plants vs Zombies.  I use to play the We Rule games.  All games suited for iPad touch screen.

Do you play first-person-shooter games on your iPad?

Regardless, the game controller is one of those things that nobody will
have to buy if they don't want to, but for those of us who like playing
games that don't work all that well with touch screens they will be
great to have.
