I just learned this recently on my mini iPad. I did not know why my email posts did not send out for my Comcast email. I
had to put my comcast password in the area for outgoing email. My password
was already there for incomng email when I had put the Comcast email on my mini. I was getting something like pop-ups for smpt comcast? To put in my password, but I was afraid that was someone trying to steal my email, so I kept cancelling it. I went into mail on my settings & put it on there. Oops, sorry, I must have hit the return button. Well. Whatever.

Have you tried using the User Guide? I use it all the time. If you open bookmarks in Safari it will be at the bottom of the list.
