Yes,  this topic has been well dug into lately.   The original poster did want a way to lock certain APPLICATIONS in to it so as to prevent access to these apps by other users on his tablet.   ALL  the apps I could find on iTunes store were only meant to hide photo, videos, and various data files.  None of them were capable of hiding applications.   I did note that there were some apps available that would do as the original poster wanted on a jail broken iPad,  but most of us do not want to jail break.   It appears that it is Apple who is preventing the development or marketing of such an app for iOS.    We are holding out hope that Apple will remedy this situation some day. There appears to be quite a demand for this.

I saw this, too, but as I remember the person wanted a folder that he could also save games in, and I don't believe that is possible with this app.  I could be wrong, though.  It's certainly worth checking it out!!

Not sure where I read the question, but someone was asking about a password protected folder where stuff could be kept from prying eyes. And it just so happens that on Apps Gone Free today there is Secrets Folder Pro, normally 99 cents, free today. You can keep stuff under a passcode lock.

Google naturally does this very well.

Comparing these two things are like comparing a Swiss Army knife to a

Google Search turns the screw faster and more efficiently, but that is
all it does. Both are worth using.

I find I say google before I talk to Siri. I google using Siri more than I Siri. Ill set reminded a lot but she's not equipped enough to be an assistant.

I took it to mean (from either one of them) "I'm outa here with the dogs,
whether you come or not."
("if you're stupid enough to stay I'm not gonna stay and be stupid with
you!")

rather than "I don't care about you, you're on your own, I'm taking the dogs
& leaving for someplace safer."

Re: [iPad] OT Hurricane Sandy

Until Aug of 2011 I could say "at least we don't have earthquakes!"

Then we had one bigger than anything here since the 1890s, even if at 5.8 it
was "wimpy-by-Cal-standards" (which Calipeeps were happy to crow about) --
but felt as far away from the epicenter (mid-VA) as *Canada*. Knocked the
top of the Cathedral Tower askew & there's still a Gargoyle kinda hanging
there (not as big as that NYC crane, though).

Depending on just where you are, we have flooding & flash-floods; we have
lots of summer thunderstorms, regular "wintry mix" days in the winter with
some proper snowstorms (& occasional snowmageddon); an occasional tornado
somewhere in the general area but nothing ever close to me; sometimes a
hurricane but not usually right on top of us.

My neighborhood got off lightly from Sandy -- I didn't lose any utilities or
comforts, it was just spending a couple of wet days indoors. :-)
I'm on high ground so no worries about a river overflowing, etc. (if the
Potomac ever gets up here we're in *real* trouble!)

I live in an earthquake area, 11000 aftershocks after a 7.1 2 yearsd ago,
and 4 over 6, many many over 5, and all local and shallow. In fact the 6.3
we has had one of the highest ground acceleration figures at 2.2g

Having seen floods in Australia and the US, let alone hurricane or super
storms, I'd live in a EQ area any day

Fantastic, Tonya...my granddaughter has a collection of the Monster High dolls, and I bet she would FREAK out if she had a costume like that.  I am saving the photos to show her.  You did a great job!

Re: [iPad] mini ipad

Here is a great video review

The good: The iPad Mini's ultrathin and light design is far more intimate and booklike than the larger iPad, and its cameras, storage capacities, optional LTE antenna, and general functionality offer a full iPad experience. The screen's dimensions elegantly display larger-format magazines and apps.

The bad: The iPad Mini costs too much, especially considering the lower resolution of its 7.9-inch non-Retina Display. The A5 processor isn't as robust as the one in the fourth-gen iPad and iPhone 5. Typing on the smaller screen is not quite as comfy.

The bottom line: If you want the full, polished Apple tablet experience in a smaller package, the iPad Mini is worth the premium price. Otherwise, good alternatives are available for less money

What a neat costume!  My adult grandson (he's 27) dressed as a hot dog & decorated the trunk of his car as a grill complete with little red lights in balls of foil to hand out candy at his church tonight.
