I have an Air at work, a new MBP at home, and an iPad. I like the processing power of the MBP (I do lots of video and photoshop stuff) and just took it on an Around the World trip. I remember telling myself next time I will travel only with the iPad. I think the Air and iPad are pretty redundant. I'd get the pro and the iPad. I didn't take my iPad on the trip because I had to blog and post pictures and I was unsure of the editing capabilities and the accessibility of wireless internet. Not all hotel have wireless. You can get a free kindle app for the iPad, so you no longer need your kindle.
