As a long time Kindle user, I wish this wasn't the case but do understand the reasoning behind such a move. However, can't one just use Safari on the iPad and go to the Kindle store and download books that way? I don't think I've ever actually downloaded from within the Kindle app anyway. Now if this changes, it will be a problem for me.
