LOL!! Yeah, my dad was an Engineer and *I* took some time to figure it out too. Today (2nd day) It is more 'autopilot' and I opened it for tall stand without even thinking about it.
Typing: Open like a folio, bend lid behind iPad. The compartment will now lift from the left side, the peg in back will pop out for placing into the hole in the aluminum back.
"Sous Chef" stand: Open and bring the large plate up from the lid to click into the aluminum back. The soft surface which was against the screen is now sitting on the tabletop directly.
"Tall Stand" The iPad compartment bends upward from the "Sous Chef" stand and it is now standing about 13" tall.
I showed my boss yesterday and he said "You have had some strange cases, this one takes the cake!"
So far 8 from every 10 colleagues wish we sold this at our store.
