So...I'm about ready to replace my four-year-old MacBook. I can't decide whether to buy an iPad2 plus a (low-cost) MacbookPro (they aren't selling regular Macbooks anymore on the website!) or just go with the 13" Air. The combo is about $350 more than the single Air. I'm not a very heavy duty user; mostly I need something for email/net, plus word-processing and the occasional Keynote or Numbers, plus a few photos (my son has a 27"iMac; I let him deal with pictures and editing.) I want something really portable though - I just lugged my 13" Macbook around on a ten-day trip; this was not fun. I'm not sure even the 13" Air would have been portable enough, actually, for that trip. An iPad would have been perfect. On the other hand, I don't like to sync two computers, and I won't use the iPad as a book reader; I have a Kindle. I've also considered getting the 11" Air (for travel) and hooking it up to an external display (at home) but that brings the cost nearly even with the iPad/Pro combo option, since I'd need to buy a monitor. And it wouldn't look as good on my desk.
I'm dithering, although at this particular moment, the 13" Air is winning. Anyone have any advice?
