[iPad] Re: EBooks

This sounds ideal for me IF they have a wide selection of books.  Is there any way to browse what is available before deciding to join?

I'd guess a lot of people from lists like these passed the word along
and the library got a lot of requests from out of state patrons, so they
upped the fee. It is still not a bad price if they have a lot of books
you want to read. Cheaper that "Agency Pricing".

I found this statement on the website. "You must be 18 or older to apply online.

A Free Library card is available at no cost to anyone who lives, works, pays taxes, or goes to school in the City of Philadelphia. In addition, anyone who is 65 or older or who has a valid card with an Access PA sticker from another Pennsylvania library
can obtain a Free Library card without charge. Veterans and members of
the Armed Services can also obtain a Free Library card without charge.
