[iPad] Re: Movies

Seeing the user agreement for vlc I didn't want to go there, this is a serious clean
Fast computer and I didn't want to clog it up with spyware that they wanted to install if you use their vlc on a PC. There is way too many applications out there that want to get into your computer and see what you are doing for "marketing" purposes. I already get Hobby King ads popping into about four other websites with targeted ads for I battery pack that I already purchased from them. And that's on my iPad!

Maybe the newer iTunes can handle the mpeg4 video resolution better but the version I have seems to only like 640x480 video size, anything else even though it will play on the iPad says, when you try to drag it over, that it will not play. I would love to know where they keep track of what works and doesn't work and update that table.

Videos with high resolution with H.264 encoding load but are Very large files whereas if MPEG-4 format is used the files are ripped a lot faster (40 - 180 fps) and are about one fifth the size however iTunes will not load them into the iPad unless you rename it to another already loaded file in the media library and copy it over again.

On videos that I have on hard drive that I took with a digital video camera it does a great job of converting them so they will play on my iPad and that is something I needed it to do. Any helpful settings for the converting? It seems to rip really fast when set to mpeg-4.
