I can't imagine any real speed typing (e.g. 40 wpm or more) on an iPhone/iPod.  (The top secretaries at work used to do 120 wpm on their Selectrics).

There was an executive secretary at MIT's AI lab whose personal best was 270 wpm. IBM would fly her out to their labs once a year to stress-test their equipment.
