Yes. I know that. In addition, they used stylus which is much harder than human finger but certain human biases get developed over a period of time and are called "habit".

AFAIK those phones used silicon based glass, a hardness of 7, while iphones and ipads now use sapphire based glass, over 100 times harder and more scratch resistant, according to physics
