Re: [iPad] Considering getting an iPad

As one who started with personal computers when you built them from a kit and then customized the BIOS to get CP/M-80 to run all the way up to Windows XP before I bought a Mac in 2008, I'll mention that it took me less than a week to become acclimated to the OS X way of doing things. In terms of human interface, there are not as many differences between Apple & Micro$oft as folks may imagine. Under the hood, however, there are many.

As for the iPad - if you're already using an iPod Touch, you'll be at home with an iPad when you walk out of the Apple store. If not, it won't take too long to get to that point. The commands and gestures are pretty much the same.
