So far so good, been restoring stuff to old iPad. i did find tho that after i reset everything on old iPad it gave me two iCloud backups to choose from, old iPad from Friday, and new iPad pro from today. it said that the one from new iPad pro needed higher system s/w which i didn't have on old iPad. I told it to restore what I backed up from old iPad. it has just finished copying over the other apps I installed, and pleased to say that the Mail app which I had problems with in the first place is now okay. Guess in the long run i could have backed up to icloud then restored it without buying a new ipad. never mind, early christmas present!
