I have been wondering for quite awhile if those who are called "researchers" have gainful employment. Are they people who are independently wealthy or live in someones basement rent free? What is the purpose of this research? How is it monetized? Do they have an income from this research?
I am not complaining about these reports being posted. Nor am I complaining about the "research."
I am wondering, what is the purpose? What is the goal? Personal entertainment? Glory in the tech world? I am guessing that there is a great deal of time spent on this research and wondering why. Is it done for fun, perhaps tweaking Apples nose?
