I had the cursor jumping on my last iPad mini. I started using Gboard and learned to swipe type on it. The cursor stopped jumping around and I typed faster once I got the hand of it. I now use it on my iPad mini 4.
Sorry, to continue, the cursor jumps from the line I am typing to all over the place, subject line, signature, etc. I may have typed 3-4 words but they don't appear where they should, and I haven't go looking.
