(Not the ultimate answer)

1) Your previous message did show, just before your current one. May be a matter of moderation.

2) I think that I got my first Mac just after Snow Leopard, so I may be giving an incorrect answer.
As far as I know, Apple devices "see" each other when on the same wifi and Bluetooth networks.
You may be able to exchange files using AirDrop or using the detour via some cloud.
To my knowledge you can't explore the iPad using a Mac, nor explore a Mac using the iPad. But that knowledge may well be wrong, or some third-party software may be required.
I have invested in some array of connectivity options among my devices, but my mind is elsewhere.

Hopt This Helps, at least a bit. :-)

Howdy!

Posted this earlier today but not showing up.

I have a 2010 Mac Mini with Snow Leopard in basement. I can connect to it (afp) with my MacBook Pro running El Cap using wifi.

How can I connect to it by wifi on my iPad Air 2?.

Thanks!
