What is it that I am not understanding about Touch ID on iOS 10 to unlock my iPad?  I have the passcode turned on.  I touch the home button to unlock and about half the time it still asks for my passcode.  Does my fingerprint not work any more for that function or am I missing something.  It is annoying to have it ask for my passcode when before I could just use my fingerprint.  Confused in NM (could be my age --- 83).

I've noticed that, too.  Inconsistent.  I've not seen a pattern, except maybe, as you say, it's requiring a password now more than than in the past.
