Re: [iPad] Re: report on Apple TV vs Roku with luddite hubby

Amazon Prime is on 2 platforms
1) Roku
2) Fire TV
Since people do not pay for the app I can see why Amazon Prime is in no rush. It hurts Apple TV to not have Amazon Prime. Its the main reason I use the other 2 devices more. I dislike using my iPhone or iPad to beam the Amazon prime to Airplay because it is buggy, clumsy and not very reliable and ties up my device. Any attempt to interact with my iPad or iPhone while they are beaming to airplay usually messes up the movie or show playing.

And if anyone says Amazon is wrong to snub Apple I will remind you Apple snubs Roku, Fire TV and SmartTV on TVs and BluRay players. So that if I buy any movie or TV series on iTunes:
1) I cannot watch it on Roku (except through their equivalent of Airplay)
2) I cannot watch it on Fire TV
3) I cannot watch on my Smart TV or Smart BluRay
Apple needs to put an app on those devices or just accept that I will buy my content from Amazon to be able to watch it on the many different devices I have. Buying things that can only be viewed on one platform is the kind of "lock in" people accused Microsoft of. Apple needs to make apps for streaming boxes so we are able to see the movies and TV shows we buy on iTunes on all major devices.

I read last year what seemed to be a credible article about Amazon coming top ATV https://9to5mac.com/2015/11/28/amazon-video-apple-tv/

There's were a couple others saying pretty much the same thing. Now Amazon thinks the deal issue GPS enough? As I've heard since I was a little kid "Can't we all just get along?"

Amazon has not issued an app for Apple TV stating they will not do so unless and until Apple offers them more attractive terms.  I either Air Play it or watch on my iPad.

Ha, I didn't realise I needed to download the apps on my new Apple TV. Thanks. I thought I just didn't have then to used my iPad to put them on the screen. Can I also get Amazon? I watch a lot of Amazon shows.
