Re: [iPad] Cracked Screen?

Others is fine if your accident prone or going into the places where you really needed the protection. For me, OtterBox makes my devices took thick.

I took my brand new ipad 2 on an airplane a couple weeks after I bought it - and it was set on the drop down table in front of me when the plane took a little dive due to turbulence.  The ipad fell onto the floor of the plane and slid face down along those lights "that will help you find your way out" if something horrible happens.   It scratched the screen really badly.   After castigating myself for not putting a case or screen protector on it, I took it home and put a Zagg screen protector on it - and it has worked just fine ever since.

If you have a little crack or scratches on the screen, I and many others suggest that you get a Zagg screen protector film put on it - you can do it yourself or pay someone to do it for you more expertly - and it will probably be just fine for a long time.

I go a crack in the corner of my iPad 3 and took it in to an Apple store when it was about 6 months old. They said it could be replaced but I decided to live with it and it has worked well ever since. The crack is very fine and I usually don't notice it. I recently got an iPad pro but the iPad 3 still works fine.

This past week I noticed a short crack, that could be seen only when light was at
a certain angle. It starts at what looks like a tiny nick on the screen edge and then
runs an inch or two. Is my iPad Air 2 doomed or can the screen be replaced?

Opinions, ideas, experiences sought.
