A, so while the ATV does not accept attachable hard drives , you can connect it to a Mac, and it will play what on the Mac (and attached to Mac) ?There is only one ethernet port which I would have to use to my Airport Extreme
iTunes sharing will allow you to play stuff on one computer that is stored on another computer on the same local network (once you set up Home Sharing).
The Apple TV can also participate in this, playing stuff stored in iTunes on you computer, using its Wifi connection to the LAN.
