Doesn't that import to iPhoto? I just want to copy iPhone photos to an external drive.

Why oh why though can I connect my iPhone to my old Win 7 laptop, and see the Camera Roll, but on my rMBP I cannot???? Weird, and annoying as I like to easily copy them for backup
