I'd suspect that eventually the move from 8mpx to 10mpx will happen.

I hope not.

My 8 mp 5S produces *excellent* quality/resolution images — IF I can frame it so that it doesn't require more than a little enlargement, and IF it isn't a low-light situation.

I would rather they make larger pixels, or improve (reduce) the noise level associated with pixel size.
