I don't use Dropbox, and I am a bit old fashioned in that I like my stuff on my external backup drives. However, given that the Camera Roll is not large, thats probably a good solution. Eek, its 11GB, need to sort those out

Do you use Dropbox?
I'm set up so that when my iDevice plugs in to my Macbook Pro, that triggers a transfer of any new images in the camera roll to a Dropbox folder; I then either delete them (if I have a reason to want them on the device, but not in permanent storage on the computer), or move them to a separate storage folder on the Mac. They only momentarily use any space on Dropbox.
I expect to move to doing this with iCloud within a month or two.
