Oh, Kris, that is just too awful!!! I'm so very sorry. As if you aren't having enough going on, this has to happen. "It doesn't rain, but it pours," is really true sometimes. I would be sad, too, putting it mildly. My parents house got burgled one time when I was visiting them, and their little dog was also OK, but I remember the awful feeling that we all had of having been somehow "violated", knowing that some strangers had been rooting around in our things. They took some odd things, costume jewelry (they were probably stupid enough to think it was real), my mother's Christmas present from me, my favorite silver, irreplaceable (lots of sentimental value) cat pendant, and my parents' video recorder and TV, among other things. They left the TV outside the house, making us think they got surprised before they were finished.
Thank God you are OK and thank God your dog is OK!!! I hope you get your iPad back, but I know how unlikely that is. Will you be able to get another one before you leave?
