The samsungs I saw yesterday were huge but thin. Looked. Like they'd snap in my pocket. I asked the two guys on the store. One an iPhone 5 if he wanted a larger screen like the Samsung and dude said "nah, don't need it, it's a phone" the non iPhone user had a regular sized touch screen. I asked if he was getting a larger screen next. He said he didn't know but if it was free on discount prolly

There are those that prefer a 3.5. Many probably. There are many that prefer larger. I go by what I read in the market, not Apple stuff or Android stuff,  in the market. From what I read and see, 4 in minimum these days. There are those that want a S3, but a bit too big. And those that cannot go back as the usability of a larger screen more than matches the slight inconvenience of  larger device. In short, they are popular. Some phones have such a small bezel that they are not bad at all form factor wise.
 
What is wrong with a 4.8 iPhone to match the 4? I can see zero problems/disadvantages if Apple did that, only positives
