Re: [iPad] Microsoft Office Mobile For iPhone Released, Supports Word, PowerPoint, Excel Editing | Redmond Pie

Hee

No his $850 PC won't play all the games at max settings . Not even close. What do u need? Fast CPU. Fast videocard which is around nz$ 1000. Sound motherboard which don't have to be expensive the rest is cheap to buy. Overall not that expensive . It will play as smooth as ps3 but you will get more eye candy such as reflections, shadows etc because a Top CPU / GPU PC will give more than a ps3. PS4? No. Not yet. Even when it does the videocard will cost 50% more than the ps4 does.

Oh. Now it's about price. The only Mac Pro I mean ... You said no way a current pc could spank a p4... In terms of teraflops of computing power both last gen and current gen Mac pros can.... And since pc ppl always claim they can build machines that spank Mac pros for $500 lol

Dude!! Ps4 1.8teraflops.
Mac Pro 7 teraflops!!

So how does it compete again? Certainly even gaming peecees can spank 1.8 easily. The old Mac Pro was 2.7.....

No way can a current PC out spank a PS4, hee.

A mate is really hardcore he lives to game, he has that attitude too, but he can see consoles taking over. Game experience and cost

A current pc can spank the the ps4 (see the new Mac Pro)

Many you know have no use for a desktop outsold of gaming! My point!! Hard core gamers will never give up the pc. IT'S EXPANDABLE!! IT'S UPGRADEABLE!!(So goes the battle cry)

Well as the cost of both is cheap and as they chnage every few yerars not every year I am suere many will upgrade. PS3 has a higher TFlop count so is faster, RAM cannot remember.

Gaming PC's are on the way out. Till now a TOP spec gaming PC will outrun a XBox 360 or PS3, but remember these consoles are years old, yet they still impress. Dedicated thats why. PC cannot compete with a XB1 or PS4, plus it would be 4 X + the price. A top videocatd will cost more than a new console for a start.

Many I know have no use for a desktop PC, apart from gaming.

Ps4 has twice the ram too right? Or it can use all the ram while xbone needs 3gb for overhead? I'm bummed I never did see a Beowulf cluster of ps3s. Lol it'll be interesting to see how this will pan out for either console. I think largely ppl already have good enough and sales aren't accelerating anymore maybe still gain but not at an acceleration pace. That's my guess. I only follow bcuz I think Sony and m$ are fighting a war and both sides are losing. Not certain if steam will ultimately win or not. Hard to see but I like the steam idea. I really think gaming peecees could win this. I think it's a fun race to spectate.

yep its now like PS4, you can do what you like with the disk

Its weird as Xbox One is marketed for entertainment, plus its a  game console. The PS4 is marketed as a game console, plus it can entertain.

PS4 is better speced performance wise so thats the better gaming console. Xbox has often been bought as an HTPC, so it will do ok, but PS4 will outsell it

I read about the backtracking on /. Amd removal of sharing. But you can just lion the disc right?i think the xbone will still flop. Nt sure though. Not as much.

xbone = Xbox One, got it.  I see they backtracked on the anti DRM.
What dicks, now they took away family sharing. All they needed to do was to extend the DRM check to once a month.

Imagine if they messed up Windows 8, then they would need to fix it in say 8.1 (oops they are)

No hate. Many need it and they've been pushing scripts for a while. So.. You already have a script if yu need it. Where's the hate? This app isn't to sell scripts it's to augment existing ones. That's all. Hate? Pshaw. I still think word 5.1a is the best wordprocessing app ever. M$ has done some good stuffs. And any missteps. Like the xbone! Lol I full think this app is too little too late but needed. Again. Yawn. No hate.

Kris,
You need to leave your MS hate at the door.
You don't seem to understand just how many firms require Office formatted documents. There are work arounds but most firms do supply the suite and I would guess they are not about to pay for Office365, reading about the iPhone only app indicates that it sucks for doing work. There seems to be a requirement for Office 2013 in the mix and that is Windows only for some of the editing.
I've been a Documents To Go since the early 90's first on a Palm PDA now on idevices. Works fine for what I need.
