As for fingerprints on the screen everyone I know with a tablet or a phone
or touch PC covers it with a screen protector and wipes it down frequently.

I don't have a screen protector on my phone or other devices except for the
very first Touch 2nd gen I got -- I didn't know then how little I'd need any
kind of touch-screen protection.
I'll breathe on a screen & wipe with a tissue if there's enough smear or
whatnot to bother me, but otherwise not. The smears & fingerprints only show
when it's *off* anyway. I don't always have clean hands, either.
I do have the ipads in foldover cases to protect them when carrying, but the
phone is just in a grippy-jacket case, no screen cover at all.
I don't seem to be that rough on these things.
